Socialization

The socialization process in dogs is crucial when they are still puppies, because at this stage dogs are in constant learning, they are curious about objects, sounds, people and other animals and there are no high hormonal changes. According to studies, the ideal would be to start the puppy's socialization process during the crucial phase between 2 and 5 months of age with different stimulations, such as contact with other dogs, people, children and different sounds. It is therefore possible to say that socialization in puppies can be considered a form of “vaccination” against future behavioral problems.

Therefore, there are many dogs as teenagers or adults who had a socialization lapse at this crucial stage and consequently developed socialization behavioral problems. Among the most common socialization problems we can mention aggression and reactivity towards other dogs, reactivity and/or aggression towards children and/or people in general, fear of people, fear of different noises and excessive anxiety when leaving home or visiting new environments. . All these behavioral problems can be developed by lack of stimulation during the dog's crucial developmental phase (2-5 months of age). Fortunately, our socialization program has helped dogs of any stage (puppies, teenagers or adults) and age.

“I am very interested in keeping my students who have completed socialization classes in our socialization group. In this way my students remain in constant contact with other animals and stimulations under the supervision of the teacher. It's like they know they're advanced students! They help other beginner dogs overcome fear and remain calm during training. Making this stimulation routine common for a dog that previously had socialization problems is imperative throughout his life.” Thalita Rosa
