My Story
Since childhood, my life has been shaped around my relationships with animals, particularly dogs. In my family, we had about 6 to 10 dogs in total. And, it was from my own dogs that I aroused an interest in canine behavior and started teaching basic commands such as sit, down, roll over, paw and Agility activities. When choosing my professional career, I had some doubts, but as expected, I ended up studying veterinary medicine. After more than 5 years of studies, I simultaneously took several other courses in dog psychology and behavior, the specific field I was interested in.
In 2018, I finished the veterinary course in Brazil and in 2019 I started the master's degree in Portugal. During my master's degree, I started working with canine behavior. My first client was a friend who was desperate for help with her new adopted dog. Since then, the success of my classes has been publicized and my career has been established. I can say that my classes are personalized for each student. Each of them presents a specific behavioral deviation in the face of the animal's personality and history that cannot be applied as a protocol for all students. After years of experience with dogs and the study of their behavior I can understand and see clearly what the problem situation between the dog and the guardian is. I can convey to the guardians the attitudes that the dog is showing through its behavior and what we together can do to make their lives easier and happier.
In my classes, the guardian also trains, because that is the goal. Guardians must be leaders. They need to know how to handle and build good communication with their dogs. My classes aren't just based on commands for tricks like sit, down and roll over. It is based on building a good relationship between the guardian and the dog, aiming at improving the behavior and attitudes of the guardian towards his dog and vice versa, increasing the possibilities for the guardian to feel comfortable, safe and confident in taking his dog anywhere, such as the city with many distractions, a dog park, a cafe or restaurant and even leaving him alone at home. That's why I always say, "A disciplined dog is a happier dog, and a disciplined dog makes your family happier."
